KUCCPS Opens Placement TVET, KMTC Portal for 2024 KCSE Students

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has announced the opening of its placement portal for 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidates and past Form Four leavers.

The portal, which opened on Friday, January 24, 2025, will remain accessible for 21 days, closing on February 14, 2025. This move aims to streamline admissions for students seeking placements in Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs), Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions, and the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC).

Application Eligibility

  • 2024 KCSE Candidates: Students who scored below a mean grade of C+ (plus) and are seeking placements in KMTC and TVET institutions.
  • Past KCSE Candidates: Form Four leavers who sat for their KCSE exams between 2000 and 2024 are also eligible to apply for KMTC and TVET placements.

Application Timeline

  • The portal will remain open from January 24 to February 14, 2025.
  • This phased application process prioritizes students enrolling for the March intake, ensuring timely admissions.

Courses and Institutions

  • Students can apply for courses offered at KMTC and TVET institutions.
  • KUCCPS encourages applicants to choose campuses within their localities to reduce costs associated with relocation.

Future Application Phases

  • Students aiming for degree programs and Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs) will have their application dates announced later.
  • Candidates retaking their KCSE exams in July 2025 will have an opportunity to apply for KMTC and TVET placements with their improved grades for the September intake.

Why the Phased Approach?

KUCCPS CEO Agness Wahome explained that the phased application process aligns with the different intake schedules of institutions. While universities and TTCs typically admit students in the last quarter of the year, KMTC and TVETs have intakes in January, February, and May.

This approach ensures a smooth transition for students into their respective colleges.

Support for Applicants

KUCCPS will conduct a nationwide exercise to guide students and support applicants in designated colleges across all 47 counties.

Applications must be submitted exclusively through the KUCCPS portal.

Submit Your Application Today

KUCCPS urges students to apply early and select institutions close to their homes to minimize costs.

Those awaiting degree and TTC application dates are advised to remain patient, as these will be announced in due course.

This initiative by KUCCPS marks a significant step in ensuring timely and efficient placement of students into higher education institutions, catering to both current and past KCSE candidates.
