Overview of the 2025 Exam
The 2025 KCSE examination marked the continuation of the revised grading system introduced by the Ministry of Education. Under this system, the overall grade is calculated based on:
- Two mandatory subjects: Mathematics and one language (English, Kiswahili, or Kenya Sign Language).
- Five best-performed subjects: Drawn from any other grouping.
This grading structure is designed to allow more students to pursue careers aligned with their specific strengths, potentially increasing the number of candidates qualifying for university entry (C+ and above).
What’s Next for Candidates?
Following the release, the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) is expected to open its portal soon for university and college applications. Candidates are advised to keep their index numbers and result slips safe for the placement process.
School principals can access the full centre results through the specific login credentials provided by KNEC.
